I was thinking it was a ZX80, so I looked at Widipedia and yes they
   have a page for the ZX80 and ZX81 PC's.

EV> IIRC, I wasn't interested in buying one because it didn't have much

i also learned BASIC programming and wrote s few programs too.

After I joined a FIDO BBS I liked seeing what others would create and
   show in the QWK_BAS echo.

I think that echo has been dropped as I couldn't find it on this BBS.
I logged on Doc's Place BBS as a Guest and looked through the echo list
He carries and didn't see it on His list either.

I really enjoyed reading that echo, and tried all of the programs that
   could run on the C=64,
A lot of them didn't have to have any adjustment to let them run on the
   Commodore.
After I got the 486 with MS-DOS 5.0, I didn't have to do any mods.

Those fellows in that echo really had fun writing programs.

I remember Kurt Kuzba(sp?) wrote one saying "Basic Can't Do This", but
   IT Did!
