In a message dated 07-03-15, Sean Dennis said to Holger Granholm:              Hi Sean,               HG> To swim in safe waters, I'd recommend eCS (eComStation) because then              SD> I disagree. They have fooled around with eCS so much that it breaks       SD> more than it works on modern equipment for me. I have used OS/2       SD> Warp 4.52 quite nicely over the past 20 years without problems. The       SD> drivers for modern equipment are out there, you just have to know       SD> where to look. eCS is terrible when trying to run a BBS under it       SD> from my experimentation.              Thank you for your advice. That prompted me to read again the texts in       the two XR_0021 and ...022 (Device driver fixpaks). According to an       earlier study I had a recollection that the DD-FP did require something       that I didn't have on the present computer. Whether it was LVM, JFS or       something else I don't recall and couldn't find now when reading AGN.              Next, I grabbed the diskette where I have stored the text and e-mail       messages I have exchanged with Mike b4 and after I received a set of       CD's containing upgrades for Warp 4 up to FP17. These txt files give       me full instructions for the upgrade. On the CD's there is everything       that I will need for the upgrade.              Since I do now have a more modern computer with W4 + FP12 intended to       replace this oldie I will now upgrade that to FP17 before setting it up       for the BBS. It's not an up-to-date machine but will do for the BBS.       It has now an USB v1 controller that I will replace with one that I       received from Australia. I suppose it's a v2 controller and it has three       USB ports while the old one has only one but I've got the time, hi.              SD> I'd recommend using JFS for any drive larger than 64GB...which is       SD> HPFS' limit.              No thanks, I still want to have some DOS programs available and for that       purpose also will limit partition size to 2Gb (at least some).              Actually I do already have a separate DOS (C:) at the beginning of the       first HD. The second HD is actually a mirror of the main one.                     CU L8ER,              Holger              ___        * MR/2 2.30 * This OS/2 system uptime is 1024 days 05:59 hours (en).                     --- PCBoard (R) v15.22 (OS/2) 2        * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
