Holger,              HG>EV>A thought just came to my mind - during a power black out do You, or       HG>EV>Anyone else reading this, NOT turn their UPS OFF so the beeping stops?              HG>Nope, absolutely not! Do you mean that if the blackout happens in the       HG>middle of the night someone should get up to close down the UPS?               I would have the UPS on long enough to finish computer tasks, and shut       the computer down properly. Otherwise, you'd run down the battery in the       UPS, and it's take a good while to recharge it, if that's an option. I       don't know if the UPS batteries are "rechargable".              HG>Usually there is a dip switch on the rear panel where you can chose       HG>various parameters, among them BEEP ON/OFF.               I think there's one in the setting of my APC UPS..but I forget the       model number offhand (it isn't cheap in price). But, as noted, if       there's a chance of storms during the day or night (whether I'm here or       not), all computer work goes by the boards.              Daryl              ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ CONGRESS.SYS Corrupted: Re-boot Washington D.C.
