   Luckily I have never felt that charge. My point however was that most   
   people don't think of that the electromagnetic charge gets induced in   
   every wire connected to an appliance, be it radio or something else.

   I have a 3 second rule. If the thunder comes at 3 seconds after the   
   lightning it did hit something 1 km away and it's too late to grab any   
   cables to disconnect them.
