   The bad thing about using flash drive as a primary backup device is that   
   they have a finite number of read/write cycles and if you don't keep them   
   "charged" (plugged in every few months), they can "forget" data.  I don't   
   use flash drives for anything but temporary storage.   
      
   Tapes, on the other hand, when cared for properly, can last decades.
