   Still, the UPS will kick in within milliseconds and he won't notice   
   anything.  My power fluctuates constantly here and I don't ever notice it on   
   my computers (appliances, et cetera will go off, but that's no big deal).   
      
   If you turn off your UPS, you're defeating its purpose and you've wasted   
   money on buying something you obviously don't need. :)
