Hi, Mark-              MH> SCSI was my favorite years ago. Those drives are the best for random        MH> seeking of data - which makes them perfect for servers. I used them in my               MH> main server many years ago, which used to house the BBS data.              SCSI is quite easy under OS/2 as I'm sure you know. Windows, not so much.              MH> I'm all SATA these days, except for my DL360 G6 server internal drives        MH> which are SAS.              I'm running all SATA currently except in the old BBS machine. I'm thinking       about repurposing it for a syslog server. The motherboard is a 20+-year-old       SuperMicro setup and it's very very reliable. I figured if I slap a 120GB       hard drive in it, that should be enough for a syslog server. :)              Now I'm starting to wander off into non-Windows territory (does Windows       support a syslog server?)...              --Sean                                   --- MBSE BBS v1.0.5.1 (GNU/Linux-i386)        * Origin: Outpost BBS * Johnson City, TN, USA (1:18/200)    |
