      -=> Ed Vance wrote to Holger Granholm <=-               EV> The UPS has a ON/OFF button on it.              Just because there's an on/off button doesn't mean you should use it.              The only reason you should -ever- use that button is if you are going to       physically relocate the box somewhere. Otherwise, don't do use it!              An UPS is designed to constantly draw a little power to charge the battery       which means even when your UPS is off, the devices connected to it, even if       they're off, are still siphoning a little power from the UPS battery which       means that if you leave it off for any amount of time, the battery will not       be at its full charge which could affect the devices connected to it or it       will kill the battery completely after a while.              They don't call it "uninterruptible" for nuttin'.              Don't use that button on a daily basis.
