   Rembember that turning on a electronic device is the MOST stressful   
   part of it's life. Doing what you do is shortening the life of the   
   printers electronics. IF you are worried about power consumption that   
   printer has a sleep mode so over all it's power consumption when not   
   printing after going to sleep is only a few watts.
