HG>EV> I think when threading a 16MM Sound Movie Projector there was a Line       HG>EV> imprinted in the projector to show where to correctly place the       HG>EV> film.              HG>That has also been the case on the cinema projectors I've seen and on       HG>the 8mm projectors I've used.              HG>EV> My friend who was a Projectionist there, invited me to come upstairs       HG>EV> to the "Booth" and taught me how to thread, check the carbons, frame       HG>EV> the film by looking at the image by sliding a part on the side of       HG>EV> the lens to make sure the correct count down number was in place, so       HG>EV> when I switched from one projector to the other the customers       HG>EV> wouldn't notice the changeover.              HG>That is of course very important if you want to be perfect but generally       HG>the public will not be upset by a missing or blank image.              HG>CU L8ER,              HG>Holger              I guess I was to impressed by the Perfection of the Projectionists in       the 40's and 50's as in later years they got sloppy and it really       irritated me. In fact that sloppyness was psrt of the reasom for the       studions going to the Super reels with the entire film on one reel. Now       with the movie on a Hard Drive there are no probems except the Idiots       in the booth are very sloppy with the framing and sound levels              tom       ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom strikes agaoin        * Origin: Check Out Doc's QWK Mail Via Web BBS > DocsPlace.org (1:123/140)    |
