EV>On February 27, 2015 I talked about that I saw a window that said       EV>"Found New Hardware" for a Printer whenever I powered up my XP box       EV>after it had been Shut Down, or Restarted - but didn't see the window       EV>if I Hibernated the XP box to turn it off, and turned it on the next       EV>time I want to use it.              EV>Since then I've HAD to Restart the XP box several times, so today I       EV>thought I would try to fool the Found New Hardware thingy.              EV>I only have one printer connected to the XP box with a USB 2.0 cable       EV>but I only turn on the power strip that its AC Power Line Cord is       EV>plugged in when I want to use the printer or some other thing that I       EV>have plugged into that power strip.              During boot the computer polls for USB devices. Since you do not turn       on the printer until after boot i am not suprised it is thinkign you       plugged i na newc usb device.Yuo realy shopuld go to a Smart plug       strip(One having a master recepticle for hte computer itself and slave       recpeticles that only turn on when it detects soemtihng plgged imnto the       master recepticle. That was you can have everything connected with the       computer be automaticly shut down when you shutdown the computer.       I actually have enough stil lturn on an off with my computer I have a       standard plug strip plugged into one slave receptables.       ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom strikes agaoin        * Origin: Check Out Doc's QWK Mail Via Web BBS > DocsPlace.org (1:123/140)    |
