   Howdy! Daryl,
   -snip-
EV>... 2400 bps used to seem so fast...

DS> Isn't that the truth??!! And, if you had a 9600 or 14.4k

I was using a 2400 baud (BPS?) modem, when someone gave me a 28.8K USR
   Sportster Vi modem.

He told me that his wife called him at work and asked if the price for
a 56K modem that she saw in the store was worth her getting for him.

   He said "Get It!".

To him that 28.8K USR was "Old Technology", but it made my jaw drop
(and my heart beating rapidly)when he handed the box to me as he said
   "Here Ed".

I knew that USR wasn't cheap, and that I was cheap and hadn't begged
the wife to let me get a faster modem than the 2400 External Modem
I bought to use with my Commodore 64 before I got a 486 in 1994.

I even bought a Switch Box so I could use the modem with either pc.

I've seen a Dial-Up BBS List a long time ago.
What is the URL for Dave's list? Thanks!
