Hi mark,              On 2015-04-29 18:40:33, you wrote to me:               EV>> * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938        EV>> (1:2320/105.1)               WvV>> Something else I noticed. Is his bbs dial-up only? The nodelist        WvV>> only mentions a phone number, so that could be the case.        WvV>> And above hostname (cco.ath.cx) doesn't resolve, so he should also        WvV>> update his origin line! ;)               ml> ath.cx is a DDNS service hosted in the Christmas Islands domain... i don't        ml> know if they (cx) actually run it or another individual/group... it used       to        ml> be abuse by malware and virus distributing system but they may have       cleaned        ml> that up... the network protections used over here used to block pretty       much        ml> all ath.cx subdomains due to that abuse... if mike's system is still        ml> registered there as cco, it may be that his internet connection is down or        ml> the updater software needs to be run...              Interesting background information! ;)              But "doesn't resolve" means that the dns system doesn't know how to resolve       the cco.ath.cx host name. Which means it doesn't exist (anymore).       "ath.cx" Is one of the domains of dyndns, so I think Mike had a free account       there. Which ceased to exist when they abolished free accounts.              Bye, Wilfred.              --- FMail-W32-1.69.4.102-B20150403        * Origin: FMail development HQ (2:280/464)    |
