|    Solar eclipse    |

Hi Ed,              Just a report: The 80% solar eclipse we had here on friday was in no way       spectacular.              The sky was covered by a thin cloud cover through which the sun could be       seen. The effect of the eclipse at ground level was nothing more than       like pulling a little thicker cloud across the sky.              The real thing I've seen some decades ago was really something I'll       never forget. The daylight went completely out and the birds went quiet       until the moon again let the sunlight start to come throuh.              The streetlights came on for the duration of the eclipse.              I've still got the bit of developed but unexposed part of 36 mm film       through which the eclipse could be watched. The only thing that could       be seen during the total phase was the eruptions on the sun spilling       over the edges of the moon.              73 de Sam, OH0NC              aka Holger              ---        þ MR/2 2.30 þ You think you're confused now?
