   Howdy! Daryl and Tom,

This afternoon my wife saw the U-Verse commercial saying $14.00USD for
   internet.

I mentioned that I thought that is only if we bought a package that had
another service - Phone or Cable TV with the internet service too.

I ain't checked it out but I'd believe that would be true.

The only option I 'HAD' used with my plain vanilla telephone service
was Caller ID, and when I learned it didn't tell me who EVERYONE was
that called my number I decided I could use the Ten Dollars USD better
   for something else.

It's almost Plain Vanilla telephone service here except for DSL being
   added.
