Ben,              You've probably read my reply to Wilfred that before I do anything       like changing the settings in XP to 'static' or anything else, that I       would talk it over with a DSL Technician at AT&T.              I'm a little puzzled about Your last line:       "(matches IP to MAC address)" .              I know the computers I have each have a MAC address, but iirc the MAC       address doesn't look anything like a IP Address.              I just looked at ipconfig /all on this pc and iirc the Physical Address       shown is the MAC address, right????????              One thought I didn't write in my reply to Wilfred was about changing       the DHCP setting to another setting that goes through some company that       filters out all the bad stuff before passing it on to my computer.              I can't remember the name right now, but remember reading about that in       a Kim Komando newsletter some time ago.              I don't know what "Guardien Fide" means, is it "Be Careful"?       I try to do that and look before I leap.              ...
