Hi Ed,              I promised you more on agricultural animals.              We started with chicken growing up to hen's or cock's.              Let's take cows next. A new-born up to a half-grown cow is a cow-calf.       It becomes a cow after fertilization and after having born her first       calf she begins to produce milk.       The outer signs tell us whether the calf will become a cow or a bull.              Next we'll take horses. A new-born up to a half-grown horse is a fole.       In this case it's also easy from the outer signs conclude whether this       fole will become a mare or a stallion.              A lamb can mostly be identified from behind whether its a lamb or a       sheep.              Pigs are either pigs or swine's. Pigs in american nomenclature       irrespective of the size.              Most wild four legged animals can be identified by outer signs whether       they are grown ups or youngsters.              As for most birds if not grown up requires some ruffled feathers to find       out what the genus is/will be.              Merry Christmas,              Holger              ---        þ MR/2 2.30 þ If you want it done right, forget Microsoft.        * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
