HG>GM Daryl,              Hi, Holger...              HG>I'm sorry to learn about your situation. If I were to move to another       HG>house in the city I would probably be in the same situation but I have       HG>lived here since 1986 and allowing antennas was first priority when I       HG>chose living quarters since both my XYL, now SK, were licensed hams.               There's a funny cartoon (I'll have to search for it), that noted "a       ham radio apartment complex". Antennas (and likely RFI) were everywhere.       :)              HG>I still am since 1951, hi.               You've got 40 years on me, there...I didn't get licensed until 1991. I       still have a little over a year, before I can be part of the QCWA.               On another note, because of fossil drivers and comport issues with my       BBS software (Virtual Advanced, aka VADV) and OS (Windows XP, SP3), I       can't run that ham radio packet door, as originally planned. But, a       fellow ham radio operator is going to see about getting me set up with a       telnet deal to logon to his site, where licensed hams can access the       state packet network. He lives in the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma area (near       Tulsa), and is heavily into ham radio and computer stuff, such as       packet, FLDIGI, PSK, etc.               Unfortunately, VADV isn't like Synchronet, where you can "telnet"       directly into other systems, while logged on to the original one. And,       those ham radio doors, originally designed by Dave Perry, W4KGU (he       became an SK a few years ago), were set up without a fossil       driver...which is needed for telnet BBS work.              Daryl, WX1DER       ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ Deduce is De Lowest Card In De Deck.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS         * ORIGIN: The Thunderbolt BBS - wx1der.dyndns.org (1:19/33)    |
