Holger,              HG>Well, if you have an emergency and call 'MAYDAY MAYDAY' any repeater       HG>should listen for your emergency message and somebody should reply.               That's what I state when running nets. If anytime during the net, an       emergency or priority traffic situation develops at their location, they       can break in at any time. At that point, we'll stop the net, and try to       help them deal with the situation.              HG>OK, I operate ham radio only by radio. I'm allowed a mast attached to       HG>the chimney and a wire antenna across the garden to a neighbors house.               Well, I don't have that luxury. I live in H.U.D. (Department Of       Housing and Urban Development) subsidized housing for the disabled...and       antennas are forbidden (although I do have a small magmount inside the       apartment, but that's the extent of it). Plus, the RFI could have an       effect on residents who have medical devices such as pacemakers,       defibrillators, oxygen tanks, power chairs, etc. Around here, they'll       sue at the drop of a hat, and I don't want that liability.              Daryl, WX1DER              ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ H.A.M.
