EV> TW> BUT Why you fooling around with a TI Image??

EV> TW> For instaling a new hard drive jsut have TI "Clone"(Make a bit

EV>Image backup is the way I've been using TI since I bought it.

Understand and I still favor the image because i can put multipule
Images of different computers on my 500 gig USB drive BUT Cloning is
really the easiest way to do a Hard Drive upgrade as it is a direct
"Clone". No fooling around with making an up to date image, unless you
are Imaging Daily, to be restored to the new drive

EV>I considered using my Tripp-Lite IDE/SATA to USB Adapter to Clone the
   EV>new drive,

I have had difficulty cloning a couple of Laptops as they would not
   recognize the USB drive.
Not to worry as I run with the side panel off of my Tower machine and
just remove the laptop drive and hook both the new and old drives to
the spare MB SATA ports and clone away.

   In that Tripp-Lite a USB-3 adapter?
If one has a USB-3 capable machine and Since USB-3 is 10 times faster it
   really shortens the transfer time.
In have a Unitec USB-3 adapter but it is SATA only
