In a message dated 10-27-14, Paul Quinn said to Holger Granholm:

   Hi Paul,

HG> Right you are. Motors TV will show a replay of the race at 21:20 tonight
HG> and then a couple of times tomorrow. The replay is 2h 10min long.

PQ> Maybe you get an edited version. (Lucky you!) Both days were live
PQ> telecasts of at least five hours each day, with one or two extra
PQ> hours prior to the actual racing.

Yes we do. Today they'll replay both races and the replays are 2h 10m
each. I know the pain of waiting for the continuation of a program while
an endless flow of ads are shown. One advantage is that you can go for
coffee or to the toilet as needed without missing anything, .

PQ> Well, the best man won! The bloke who should have won at Bathurst.
PQ> Luckily he had enough go-go juice this time. :)

Yeah, and in race 1 the McLaughlin/Permat Volvo was second which is of
special interest here as Volvo is a swedish company. We have a common
   border with Sweden.

PQ> Ah, we don't have that nonsense here. There are certain factions,
PQ> amongst the refugees who have moved north from our southern states
PQ> no doubt, that are pushing for our state to go with DST.

Among many others here I don't see the use of "summertime" an advantage.
The milk-farmers still have to start work at the same standard time as
before because cows cannot understand that/why the should be milked at
   another time of the day.

Maybe there was some advantage of this change during WW2 to save energy
or something else but that time has passed 70 years later.

PQ> OTOH, if the politicians present some region-based 'ticket' then
PQ> there could be a split of populations, using different time zones.
PQ> It's do-able but an ugly idea nevertheless.

Yes, that's what they are doing in the states and if we see Europe as a
continent it's done here too :-(

PQ> We have the highest incidence of skin cancers in the world's
PQ> population. And, the idiots want to increase exposure time for the
   PQ> people.

PQ> Stupidity: the second most common element in the universe. ;-)

I agree as long as I live!

   Have a good day,

   Holger
