   Howdy! Roger,

The United States Government bought the thing, not me.

The boss was given a 286 to replace the XT and told to have us use it
instead of the Keyboard Terminal with the Acoustic Modem we were using.

Can't remember but I think it was a DEC, prior to that we were using a
   Texas Instruments Terminal.

If You've been reading the echo for some time You have probably heard
me tell this, but I just remembered this story and had to write it.

The instructions we were given was to press the CTRL and G keys at the
   same time to Log On.

One of the shift leaders I worked with was cussing up a storm because
when He tried pressing BOTH Keys at the same time He wouldn't get
   connected.

He would POUND those keys something furious and not get any results.

One day I was assigned to His shift because a person was on vacation,
and I told Him to use the CTRL key as it was another Shift Key,
press it first and then press the G key.

After He fummed a bit He did as I told Him and got connected so He
could send our River data out.

That man was preparing to throw the Terminal out the window, it made
   Him so mad.

I had used a Commodore 64 at home for a couple of years so I didn't
know it all, but I knew just enough that time to help out at work.

... "And we'll have fun, fun, fun..." What? A moderator? Never mind.
