   Even if that was the case, a web browser could be used on an internal network   
   - so-called 'intranets' were promoted in the mid-1990s as a way that   
   organizations could distribute documents - readable with browsers - across   
   their internal networks, without needing to expose their users to the dangers   
   (and distractions) of the network.
