|    Cable Broadband Speed    |

Howdy! Tom,              Time Warner keeps sending me Advertisements in my Postal Mailbox about       their broadband internet at the fixed price of $14.99 USD Guaranteed.              Since You started using Cable broadband I was wondering what Rate do       You get downloads at?, and what Speed Plan do You use?              The max I've seen with Firefox and AT&T DSL is 80Kbs, I think that 'b'       is Bytes, I'm not downloading anything right now to know if the 'b' is       Bits or Bytes. I use their Basic DSL service, which I think is 768KB/S.              The TW ad says the fixed price is for a 2Mbps plan, which I divide by       11 to get 181.8 KiloBytes/Sec. including the Start, Stop and Parity       Bits per Byte.              I have read Cable has Rate Plans up to 50M, but not interested in       having the TWC folks install their gear here at any speed, I'm just       interested (Nosey) What Rate of Downloads You (Or Anyone) get at the       Speed Plan You/They use.              I'm glad I'm not on Dial-Up now, iirc a good download speed back then       was 200 Bits/Sec.              I might be wrong in my calculations, but I'm sure You or someone else       can tell me Whats What.              Thanks es 73 ar              es = and 73 = best regards ar = end of this message              You know that but others reading my message might not understand Ham       Radio Lingo.              ... Have you checked your smoke detector batteries & Fire Ext, LATELY?!       --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.49       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
