In a message dated 10-01-14, Daryl Stout said to Holger Granholm:              GM Daryl,              HG>Yeah, the same thing happens on Oct. 26th when we return to normal time.              DS> Much of the U.S. goes back to Standard Time the first Sunday in       DS> November, then back to Daylight Savings Time the second Sunday in       DS> March.              Yes, I know. I must have that in mind when running the BBS in an       international environment.              DS> Too bad they can't do like many of the ham radio operators, and       DS> the U.S. National Weather Service, where they log and operate in UTC              Here they have a ships bell on a business square that sounds every day       at noon. Of course they have to reset that each time when the time zone       changes from normal to summer time and back. Summer time here is what       you call DST.              Instead they should run that bell on UTC (GMT) as is used in all       international traffic like ships, flights etc.              DS> Time. At least the U.S. State of Arizona stays on Standard Time year       DS> round.              That would suit me fine here as well. Also the farmers would welcome       that. Now they go out of sync with the clock because cattle don't change       their daily rhytm so the farmers have to do it.              73 de Sam, OH0NC              aka Holger              ___        * MR/2 2.30 * You're never a loser until you quit trying.              --- PCBoard (R) v15.22 (OS/2) 2        * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
