   Given the relatively low numbers of Win8/8.1 adoption, it might be something   
   to do -   
   gather some good public relations for MS, while not actually costing   
   anything... and if it helps push the large mass of XP users - still 25% of   
   Windows - and some Win7 users to pay to upgrade, it would be a good investment.   
      
   I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to use Windows Upgrade to migrate a   
   Win7 system to the Win10 technical preview, fairly quickly and problem-free   
   (as far as I can tell).
