Forgot to mention that it's also available for Windows as ZTreeWin.

AFAIK PC-DOS didn't change anything in the CONFIG.SYS nor AUTOEXEC.BAT.
As for the IO.SYS and MSDOS.SYS I don't know because I never installed
PC-DOS over a previously installed operating system.

EV> I had to grab that box since I've heard lots of good comments about
   EV> 7.0 in BBS messages I've read.

After the bad info about MSDOS 4 I never considered another M$ DOS.

EV> And then those 'features' are included in the next edition of the
EV> software, and the next, and the next, etc.

I don't agree with that. Apparently M$ did something when they released
MSDOS 5 because it, to my knowledge, received the bad publicity of v4.

EV> In Windows 3.1 I didn't have to click Start to Shut it Down, IIRC
EV> I would Right Click on the Left side of the Title Bar and select
EV> Close. I think a Double-Click on the Right side of the Title Bar did
   EV> the same thing.

   I don't remember much of Win 3.1.

EV> My OS/2 Version 1.2 book shows Right-Clicking on a blank space and
EV> choosing the Shut Down option in a Drop Down Box.

In later versions of OS/2 there is a shutdown icon in the menu bar.

EV> I try not to use the Start Button if I can do something with a
EV> keyboard shortcut. But that's Me.

If my memory serves me correctly there have been instructions published
how to create a shutdown file and via an icon on the desktop or menu bar
to close down automatically without extra questions. It also closes down
   open programs automatically.
