When I buy something and the Receipt is printed on Thermal paper I put       it on my Epson NX430 AIO and make a Copy of the receipt on PAPER in       case I have reasons to return the item to the store and the Bar Code on       the receipt is faded out, the Copy on regular paper can be scanned.              I've only had a thermal paper receipt fade on me one time that I had to       use my copy to show the store so they could give me my refund.              I was wanting to do that today even though two of the Color Cartridges       needed to be changed, by Scanning the Receipt and printing it from       Irfanview, because I had learned that this AIO prints using all 4 Inks       when I use it to make a Copy of something, and I was only wanting to do       a B&W job today, and choose Black/Greyscale in printer Options for the       task at hand.              I scanned the receipt in Greyscale with the Epson Scan program because       I learned the B&W Option normally doesn't make good looking Scans.              Then Opened the file with Irfanview.              I Selected Print and changed the Option for Black/Greyscale printing.              I use Print Preview and when I clicked the Print button I saw the Epson       Printer window appear with a message about I couldn't print anything in       Color but was allowed to print with Black Ink.              But "IT" Didn't print my job and the only message in the window was       that I needed to change the 2 Color Ink Cartridges.       There wasn't anything saying I couldn't print in Greyscale because       of somesuch thing.              After messing around looking at the Print Queue and other Printer       things I clicked on the button for Epson Help (over the Internet, of       course, because Epson didn't include a Online Manual with the NX430 as       they did with the CX3800 AIO.              After reading a page or two I clicked on the FAQ and typed the word       "Black" in the Search Area.              Among the Results a FAQ I clicked on says my AIO will use a bit of each       Color even when the job needs only Black Ink.              Their explanation is that it keeps the Ink in the Color Cartridges from       Drying Out (my words) by the AIO always using a little Ink from each       Cartridge for Black Jobs, iirc.              So I put the two new Color Ink Cartridges "IT" Needed and got the job       done.              Epson NX430=1 Ed=0 This time.
