In a message dated 07-13-14, Tom Walker said to Mike Luther:              Hi Mike,              ML>Something seems slightly missing in this discussion here, grin!              ML>ML>BR>Mine doesn't click, it just beeps like mad when I lose power lol              I use an APC BK-500 UPS. When it switches to battery power it beeps       every 5 seconds unless that signal has been swiched off on the back       panel. It does however scream like mad on overload or when it decides       that the battery is getting exhausted.              ML>ML>UPSes DO have relays in the       ML>ML>for when they switch to their batteries...              IRC mine does also have relay(s). The only thing that is powered by the       UPS is the BBS machine. I don't need the monitor to orderly shut down       the machine.              If it happens that I'm not at home when the battery power fails, the BBS       machine will automatically boot up to the state it was after first doing       a chkdsk when it starts up again.              Also, the manual does state that it monitors the line frequency when       starting up even though nothing says it's SMART.              Have a nice day,              Holger              PS. this is a case of not replying to a message FROM you and       consequently that extra space is missing on the quoted lines.
