|    XP Desktop Shortcut Icons    |
|    22 Jun 14 21:54:00    |
My XP Desktop is 'Cluttered' with Shortcuts.              I use DiskMedia to create a Shortcut Icon on the Desktop when I load       a CD that is in the Tray so I can click on the Shortcut to Open the       disk, instead of having to first open Windows Explorer or My Computer.              DiskMedia also shows USB devices when I insert them in a USB slot.              For a long time I have noticed that when a Shortcut icon for a drive       shows up on the Desktop it isn't put directly below the last one in       the column to the Right.              There is a Blank Space where an Icon should be and the Drive Shortcut       appears just below that Blank Space.              I know ALL ABOUT Blank Spaces, there is one above my mouth.              I can Right-Click and put a Check Mark on Auto Arrange, and I next       remove the Check Mark because I want to arrange things the way I want.              When I do that the new Drive Icon moves up to the Blank Spot.              I have looked at what files are in Documents and Settings....Desktop       for my Users Account AND for the ALL USERS Account.              Every file name is in those listings has a Shortcut on the Desktop.              The list doesn't have entries for My Computer and the Recycle Bin IIRC,       but I figure those icons come from Windows\System32 or some such.              Computers Are Fun!              ... I typed "FORMAT COM1" and killed a telephone operator!       --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.49       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
