   I would be cautious of Wins 7 with only 1GB of RAM, it likes around 4GB from   
   what I've seen. otherwise it sounds like Win 7 would work on both. I run both   
   Wins 7 SP1 and WinXP SP3 and prefer Win 7. Both are fairly stable :)   
      
   That being said, I only have 2GB dedicated to XP and it seems fine. (g)
