   More about weather

In a message dated 05-05-14, Jean Parrot said to Holger Granholm:

   GE Jean and Paul,

JP> Every day that one wakes up in the morning, is nice.

I have intended to write this since the winter. The meteorologs were
talking about North Atlantic Oscillations a couple of years ago when
they wanted todescribe the changes of winter weather.

It took me about a year to find out the meaning of that. The northern
region of the earth is covered by a cap hovering above it. What they
were saying was in fact that this cap moving east-west governed the
   winter weather.

The winter that passed was very cold and with much snow over the east
coast of the USA but we got very little snow here and the winter wasn't
very cold either. It seem seems to me that the cap stopped oscillating
and was fixed in the westward position givin all the foul weather over
the eastern part of the USA.

Then, a short lesson to Paul about the shorthand letters we use.

GM is Good morning, OM is Old man
GD is Good day OT is Old timer
GA is Good afternoon OW is Old woman
GE is Good evening AGN is again
GN is Good night CU is See you
GL is Good luck CUL is See you later
OC is Old chap L8ER is Later
   OB is Old boy

We are quite a few Hams = Radio Amateurs using these echoes and these
Morse acronyms come quite naturally to us.

Regarding OC it is mostly used among members and ex-ditto of the
commonwealth while the US english version is OB.

   CU L8ER,

   Holger
