RW> BR> I recently upgraded to USB 3.0 which works great once Wins 7 Pro is       RW> BR> running, but the BIOS won't recognize the USB 3.0 drives as bootable.       RW> BR> I have an Intel DH55HC Mobo with the latest BIOS update. Doc's at       RW> BR> Intel say USB 3.0 is supported at the BIOS level ... one note says to       RW> BR> enable the xHCI bit but I don't have that option in the BIOS setup :(       RW> BR> The USB 3.0 hardware is provided by a PCIe card. When I had a SATA       RW> BR> port card in that slot it booted fine.              RW> BR> Anyone else booting from USB 3.0 drives?              RW>I'm still stuck with v1.0 USB ports...but, I did buy a PNY 8gb memory       RW>stick that came with instrucions on using it to boot a system. I may have       RW>to review that procedure and see if it's plausable to do on v1.0 USBs.                     I would not expect any problems as the only difference is the Speed       capabilites. It would jsut boot slower.       I have a couple of Boot flaxh drives that I have installed LUNIX for       testing on. I had the best luck with Puppy Linux but LINUX is not for       me. To many tines you are forces into a convoluted command line       proceidure to make somethign work.       ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom Strkes Again        * Origin: Fidonet Since 1991 Join Us: www.DocsPlace.org (1:123/140)    |
