   it is more likely that there is some process that is hogging cpu time... i see   
   it on several of my boxen at times... in some cases, it has been because   
   something is updating in the background... in other cases, it is because   
   something is getting loaded after an update that wasn't being loaded before...   
   how much memory do you see being used when you look at the task manager
