I noticed lately that I don't hear a BEEP when I turn on my       HP a1430n XP MCE IBM Compatable pc.              The three LEDs on the Keyboard flash once during POST       (Power On Self Test) as the 486 DOS 5.0 box does, but I'm not       hearing a BEEP as the 486 does.              I may be that 'ALL' IBM Compatable computers don't Beep an Error Code       on POST anymore.              I can't remember if my XP box ever BEEPed on POST, but because I       started wondering if it ever did, I thought to ask here.              TIA              ... You need to be at least 10% smarter than the equipment.       --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.49       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
