   I don't know about its french heritage but you'll find at least one,   
   often two SCART sockets on all TV's sold here.   
      
   HDMI is a much newer type but it's also found on most of todays TV's.   
   If that can be used to record TV signals is beyond my knowledge.   
   USB connectors are also very common behind TV set today.
