   * An ongoing debate between Ed Vance and All rages on ...

After I re-size a window I find that if I maximize it then return to normal it
will retain it's dimensions next time. Maybe something along those lines will
   help {shrug}

EV> IIRC when I used Windows 3.1 I could move the mouse pointer to the
EV> square on the left side of a Title Bar and hold some kind of key
EV> combination such as: Shift or CTRL etc. and then Right-Click on
EV> that square to Close the window, and after that where ever that
EV> window was positioned on the W3.1 Desktop at that time, it would open
EV> at that same spot the next time I clicked on the Icon to open it.

EV> Some time ago I started having the XP Taskbar on the Right Side of
    EV> the Desktop.
EV> With that setting I could see 4 icons in a row on the taskbar.

EV> I decided to Unlock that Taskbar Setting and increase the size so
EV> 5 icons were in each row.

EV> Since then I have tried over and over to change where one program
EV> appears when I use it because every time I use it a very small
EV> fraction of the Right Side of its window is covered by my new
    EV> enlarged Taskbar.

EV> It isn't real bothersome, but it does bother me some after I have
EV> tried repeatedly to Right-Click on the icon on the Left Side of
EV> the Title Bar and selected Move and then moved it where I wanted it
EV> to be, but the next time I open the program it doesn't know that I
EV> told it to stay in a newer place, and it opens in the old place it
EV> was before I increased the size of the Taskbar.

EV> I can see 2/3rds of the X-Box at the Right of the Title Bar, and
EV> in fact, I don't even close the program with that X, it has a BIG
EV> Exit button that I always use when I close the program, and 90% of
EV> the button is visible to me even though it is located on the Right
EV> Side of the programs window.

EV> Does anyone know how to tell XP to OBEY when I put that programs
EV> window where I want it to be on the Desktop?

EV> While I was typing this message I thought, Ed, why don't you resize
EV> the Taskbar back to where only 4 icons were shown in a row,
EV> then open the program and move it to the left a little, close it,
EV> and open it again to see if it stayed in the new spot, and then
EV> resize the Taskbar again to show 5 icons in a row.

EV> I am not going to do it right now since I wrote all of the above.
EV> I am going to wait and see if anyone can tell me it can be done,
    EV> and how!.

EV> If it can't I will then try my NEW IDEA!.
    EV> TIA!
