IIRC when I used Windows 3.1 I could move the mouse pointer to the       square on the left side of a Title Bar and hold some kind of key       combination such as: Shift or CTRL etc. and then Right-Click on       that square to Close the window, and after that where ever that       window was positioned on the W3.1 Desktop at that time, it would open       at that same spot the next time I clicked on the Icon to open it.              Some time ago I started having the XP Taskbar on the Right Side of       the Desktop.       With that setting I could see 4 icons in a row on the taskbar.              I decided to Unlock that Taskbar Setting and increase the size so       5 icons were in each row.              Since then I have tried over and over to change where one program       appears when I use it because every time I use it a very small       fraction of the Right Side of its window is covered by my new       enlarged Taskbar.              It isn't real bothersome, but it does bother me some after I have       tried repeatedly to Right-Click on the icon on the Left Side of       the Title Bar and selected Move and then moved it where I wanted it       to be, but the next time I open the program it doesn't know that I       told it to stay in a newer place, and it opens in the old place it       was before I increased the size of the Taskbar.              I can see 2/3rds of the X-Box at the Right of the Title Bar, and       in fact, I don't even close the program with that X, it has a BIG       Exit button that I always use when I close the program, and 90% of       the button is visible to me even though it is located on the Right       Side of the programs window.              Does anyone know how to tell XP to OBEY when I put that programs       window where I want it to be on the Desktop?              While I was typing this message I thought, Ed, why don't you resize       the Taskbar back to where only 4 icons were shown in a row,       then open the program and move it to the left a little, close it,       and open it again to see if it stayed in the new spot, and then       resize the Taskbar again to show 5 icons in a row.              I am not going to do it right now since I wrote all of the above.       I am going to wait and see if anyone can tell me it can be done,       and how!.              If it can't I will then try my NEW IDEA!.       TIA!              ... My best thoughts always come a little too late. - Hawthorne       --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.49       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
