   ummm... they should... the problem is that ftp uses more than one port...   
   there's a command port and some data ports... your firewall needs to be able   
   to handle the redirect as well as associating connections with ftp and   
   adjusting their ports, too... passive and active ftp also come into play...   
   sometimes one works and the other not... especially with NAT involved... there   
   is no redirection capability like with http, either...
