|    Who Cruise - New Voyage This November    |
|    10 Jul 11 19:00:30    |
From Newsgroup: rec.arts.drwho.moderated       From Address: whocruiser@aol.com       Subject: Who Cruise - New Voyage This November              OK guys, the news is finally out and it's all up on the web site...              As previously announced, the cruise line forced us to reschedule this       year's voyage to a completely new time & place (and which none of our       previous guests of honor could make, argh!) Well, most of the dust has       now settled from the furious activity these last two weeks       reorganizing things and all is now set for our travel agents to begin       taking your bookings for the NEW 2011 Sci-Fi Sea Cruise - The       "Hurricane Who Bahamas Evacuation" Cruise.              We have joined forces with our friends at the Hurricane Who convention       in Orlando Florida the weekend of 4 - 6 November 2011 to help each       other out by sharing some of our guests of honor between the two       events, as we have successfully done in the past, once before with       Chicago TARDIS, and twice before with Gallifrey One. We set sail the       day after the Hurricane Who convention, on Monday 7 November 2011 from       Orlando's adjacent seaport of Port Canaveral, and return the morning       of Saturday 12 November, for five festive & fun filled nights together       exploring the Bahama Islands aboard the beautiful Carnival Ecstasy. We       sailed this same ship before for our first California to Mexico voyage       after Gallifrey 2003, so we already know how much fun it is. We have       port calls at the islands of Freeport, Nassau, and the private resort       island of Half Moon Cay, plus a full fun day at sea on our way back       home.              Invitations & negotiations are ongoing for additional guests to both       events, but as far as those who will definitely be sailing aboard the       cruise with us, we have our first two confirmed guest announcements,       and they are both memorable guest artists from the 10th Doctor era of       the New Series of Doctor Who: Paul Marc Davis and Chipo Chung. Doctor       Who fans first saw both Paul and Chipo in the same pivotal episode       that brought together the 10th Doctor, Martha and Captain Jack to       witness the rebirth of The Master, "Utopia." Paul played the ferocious       Chieftain of the Futurekind, and Chipo played the delightful Chantho.       Over the next few years fans were to see more of both our cruising       companions, as Chipo returned to join David Tennant, Catherine Tate,       and Billie Piper in the standout episode "Turn Left", playing The       mystical Fortune Teller who showed Donna what terrible things would       have happened had she done things just a tiny bit differently.       Meanwhile Paul went on to appear as an alien in Torchwood, and then to       a recurring role in The Sarah Jane Adventures as Sarah's (and the 10th       doctor's) arch nemesis The Trickster. So in addition to their own       life's and work's stories to relate, they are bound to have countless       other tales to tell of their times working with some of the biggest       and best loved stars in the Doctor Who universe.              Because this cruise directly follows on the very next day after       Hurricane Who (and plans are even afoot for a bon voyage party on the       Sunday night at their hotel, but more on that later...) you have the       opportunity to combine both events into more than a full week of       fannish fun, and only have to fly in and out of Florida the one time       if you're not a local. Plus there's always the tempting option to stay       even longer to sample all of the usual Florida tourist activities if       you so desire.              As always, all of the info on the cruise - Names, Dates, Places,       Prices, How To Make A Reservation, Etc. - are available on the       official Sci-Fi Sea Cruise web site, located at http://www.scificruise.com       so go check it out now, including how to score a FREE $50 per cabin on       board spending account credit by supporting our EARLY BOOKING effort.              Thanks so much for your patience at the rescheduling of the event, but       I honestly think we've come out of it with a BETTER overall event for       you, the fans, to enjoy (and it's much cheaper now too, nothing wrong       with that!) Hoping soon to be able to welcome YOU aboard in November.              Dan Harris, Sci-Fi Sea Cruise organizer.              --- Synchronet 3.15a-Linux NewsLink 1.92-mlp        * Origin: http://groups.google.com (1:2320/105.97)       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
