      Wettest west and southeast

      Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 4th December 2025
      Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

An unsettled picture for most but with milder daytime temperatures than
recently. Most settled central continent around and north of the
      central Alps.

      Thursday
Some rain for northern parts of Portugal, drier brighter further south.
Outbreaks of rain for Spain, most consistent north with snow over the
high ground. Mostly dry bright morning over the Balearics with some
wind, but rain arrives later. Showers for Sardinia and Corsica as well
as eastern parts of Italy, particularly early. Some rain is expected
for western parts of the Balkans. Heavy rain spreads north over Greece,
and later in the day over the far western parts of Türkiye, while
further east it will be a dry and bright day. Dry and bright for
      Cyprus.
A band of rain pushes east over France and the British Isles, blustery
here with showers following. Breezy with a few showers for the Low
Countries. Some early rain in northern Germany but otherwise a cloudy
and mostly dry day, similar in Poland and Belarus; Ukraine will see
some light rain. Another dry but cloudy day for Switzerland, similar to
Austria but some rain arrives over the far east later in the day.
Czechia will see a dry start, but rain arrives in the evening. Hungary
and Slovakia will see cloudy skies with outbreaks of rain. Mostly dry
for Romania and Bulgaria, some local patchy rain later.
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Denmark, southern Norway and southern
Sweden. Odd patches of wintry precipitation further north and over
Finland and the Baltic States; likely widely cloudy all day and
slightly milder temperatures in southern areas.

      Friday
Frequent showery rain in Iberia, driest in northeast Spain. Showers in
the Balearics and Sardinia and Corsica, but these gradually easing
though the day. Showers with sun spells in central and southern Italy,
dry and bright north. Mostly dry in the northern Balkans, wet to the
south and rain becoming more widespread later. Heavy rain over the
Aegean Sea all day gradually spreads over mainland Greece and into
Türkiye, this band of rain passing into eastern areas.
Patchy rain and snow in France, then winds strengthen in the northwest
and bringing afternoon heavy rain. Windy too in the Low Countries but
dry. Early snow in Switzerland and east Germany clears for dry but
cloud conditions. Early rain too in Czechia and west Poland, this also
clearing for dry but dull conditions. Patchy rain lingers from Hungary
      into Romania and Bulgaria.
Occasional patchy rain across southern Scandinavia, an increasing
chance in Denmark and southern Sweden later in the day. Some snow in
northern Finland, largely dry northern Sweden and Norway but cloudy.
Dry and cloudy too in the Baltics but breezy, some light patchy rain
here and there late in the day.
