      Wet Mediterranean and southeast

      Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 26th November 2025
      Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

The central and west continent will see the most settled weather with
bright spells. Unsettled to the north and southeast with wind and
      rain/snow.

      Wednesday
Fine in Iberia with only scattered showers in northern Spain. Strong
winds over the central Mediterranean islands with showers; a risk of
gales in the east Balearics. Often raining in Italy, though drier and
sunnier in the north. Showers along the Balkan coast with persistent,
heavy rain into western Greece. Patchy rain and sunshine over the
Aegean Sea and into west Türkiye.
Most of France will be dry but cloudy, some patchy snow in the
mountainous southeast. This snow extends across Switzerland and Austria
though tending to ease through the day. Substantially dry in the Low
Countries and Germany with some sunny spells north. Cold in Czechia and
Slovakia with heavy snow, this band of snow extending into much of
Poland. Some showery rain in Hungary and Romania but many will be dry.
Rain in west Bulgaria, drier east.
Dry with sunny spells for much of southern Scandinavia. Sweden and
Finland likely dry all day with sunny spells though quite breezy in the
north. Spells of rain and snow will affect west Norway but southern
inland areas will be mostly dry. Colder in the Baltic States with snow
spreading from the east in Lithuania. Generally drier Latvia and
Estonia until later when snow reaches east Latvia.

      Thursday
Staying fine and sunny in Iberia. Morning showers and wind in the
central Mediterranean, though easing over the Balearics. Unsettled in
central and south Italy with frequent showers, these merging into
broader areas of rain across most of mainland Greece. Some showers too
on the Balkan coast with snow in the mountains. Only scattered showers
with bright spells in the Aegean and coastal Türkiye.
Some rain in north and central France with a strengthening
southwesterly wind, this wind stretching across the Low Countries,
northern Germany, and into Poland; largely dry in these areas with sun
breaking out, though some morning snow in Poland. A dry and
increasingly bright day over the Alps and eastward from Czechia to
Hungary. Rain and snow increasingly common in Bulgaria, Romania, and
      central Ukraine.
A windy day across Scandinavia. Spells of rain and snow will pass from
southwest to northeast across many areas, these particularly persistent
and heavy in southwest Norway. Staying cold in the Baltic States with
morning snow, this easing into a mostly dry and windy day with sun
      bursts.
