   The Mothman legend originated in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, with the first   
   reported sightings occurring between November 1966 and December 1967.   
   Eyewitnesses described a large, humanoid creature with wings and glowing red   
   eyes, and the phenomenon gained further attention after the tragic collapse of   
   the Silver Bridge in 1967, which some linked to the creature's appearances.
