   Myself I'm sticking to the offlining idea(s) but if I did add an online   
   messaging scheme I think it would be web based since most these days can   
   handle that, including hand helds and the such.  Personally I don't care for   
   web based stuff but recognized AGES ago that it was the way to go if looking   
   to support the masses, including text based apps such as messaging.
