Everything that works in       Debian/Ubuntu, should pretty much work in the other.              There's probably quite a few instances where you'd find an answer for something       Debian related on a Ubuntu forum.. Then again, vice versa would work also       (usually).              As for the root xterm, I didn't notice any of those sites requiring root       access to run an xterm window. I believe they're basically just saying to add a       script to your startup which opens an xterm window and starts 'mc'.              Check this site out, especially the part of "Running the script when a user       logs on graphically, instead of at boot time"              http://askubuntu.com/questions/141217/how-can-i-run-an-application-in-gnome-ter       minal-automatically-when-booting              It does mention having to specify the working directory when using Startup       Applications.              Regards,       Nick              --- SBBSecho 2.20-Linux        * Origin: thePharcyde_ telnet://bbs.pharcyde.org (Wisconsin) (1:154/10)    |
