Hey All!              This works great for both ath9k and zd1211rw based wireless adapters       with respect to the kernel's nl80211 driver and wpa2 connections to a       wireless ap.              I am using wpa_supplicant v0.7.3 with these drivers built in;              -------------------------------------------------       drivers:        wext = Linux wireless extensions (generic)        nl80211 = Linux nl80211/cfg80211        hostap = Host AP driver (Intersil Prism2/2.5/3)        wired = Wired Ethernet driver       -------------------------------------------------              Also the nl80211 is dependant on libnl and of this writing I am using       v2.0 and had to append the "CONFIG_LIBNL20=y" option to the .config file       (same situation with hostapd). The wireless tools iw-0.9.22 work out of       the box with libnl-2.0 and now with wpa_supplicant working with nl80211       they are now the wireless tools of choice since there is the option of       mesh mode available which wireless_tools lack. Also noted an       improvement in ping times when deploying iw to handle the initial       connection to the AP once wpa_supplicant was initialized to handle the       wpa2 encryption which is now required by the ap. Works like a charm.              Also, also added the option of either static ip or a dhcp connection to       the ap in the start/stop script. I am still testing things but it looks       like I now have a solid foundation for everything that might follow.              If anyone wants build scripts for all the wireless utilities please let       me know and I'll be happy to share. After all they are bash scripts.       :-)              Life is good,       Maurice              --- Msged/LNX 6.2.0        * Origin: The Pointy Stick Society (1:261/38.9)    |
