   Hey Ben!

BR> Just finished bringing up a VM of Debian Linux.

   I feel your pain. ;-)

BR> Obviously related to Bash of course {chuckle}.

It is my idea for a offline text messaging thingy that at the moment only
covers the ftn-ish style of messaging but could include email and/or whatever
type of text messaging if I feel so inclined in the future. Yes it is bash
based as the below tearline indicates.

BR> Holler if you need anything tested!

At the moment your reply is extremely helpful. I've been working out the
kinks in encorporating netmail to this latest 'upgrade' and given the
differences between netmail and echomail there were a few items to iron out.
Previous to this netmail and echomail were two different scripts and now they
   are one.

What a hassel. Stripping the binary parts out of incoming being the biggest
PITA, although adding it to the outbound is almost as bad. I had to resort to
a couple perl oneliners (the pack function) to facillitate that. I originally
was using ascii2binary for that but perl's pack function is more efficient and
   much faster.

   Life is good,
