Hey Ben!              I am taking the liberty of combining you replies into one. This makes       it easier for me if you don't mind.               BR> Aborted due to compilation errors              I saw in a later message which has yet to arrive here that it turned       out to be a typo. Now that we have the idea that our totally different       systems are in sync I think it might be best if I post future scripts       on the publically accessable ftp site here. Check this out and see       if that works for you;               wget ftp://70.66.0.181:15243/fido/husky-stable.sh              Don't take the above script as gospel since it is based on earlier       versions but I just want to make sure that if I put scripts there then       it'll make it easier for you to do edits and we can discuss them in       this echo if it works out better for you. Offhand I am guessing it       might be the best approach and I can create a tuxpower directory on       there exclusively for this purpose.              If you agree then I'll edit the script for what I am guesstimating       to be a native cygwin build of the source in question. Either that       of feel free to follow the logic of husky-stable.sh and see if you       can apply it yourself. I am easy on this subject.               BR> I output them to tar.gz and it worked fine              Excellent. Now that I know it'll make it MUCH easier since tar.gz -       as well as tar.bz2 and tar.xz - are what I am used to and would have       probably made many 'typos' in the future regarding tgz etc.               BR> the usual configure, make, install, make clean, etc.              Not quite. There is no configure in this case. The rest work       including the DESTDIR idea except that for a first time install       you'll need to do a straight 'make install' to all of the packages       other than hpt since you lack the needed dependencies at the moment.       See what you can decipher from husky-stable.sh first. I the case       of huskymak.cfg you'll need to copy the appropriate huskymak.cfg for       cygwin instead from the huskybse tarball to the root build directory       of your choosing. If you read any of the README's in any of the       source tarball's it should say something to this effect.              Let me know about the ftp idea. Offhand I think it is a good plan.              Life is good,       Maurice              --- GNU bash, version 4.2.10(2)-release (x86_64-atom-linux-gnu)        * Origin: Pointy Stick Society (1:261/38.9)    |
