I don't know how any real Star Trek fan can        tolerate        AH> these new films. It's like they've turned Star Trek into something        more        AH> akin to Transformers - loud, cliched actionfests for a teen audience        who        AH> can't pull themselves away from Pokemon Go. I don't really blame Star        AH> Trek. It's Hollywood.              I prefer classic Star Trek myself, but I think even the older Star Trek        movies tended to be more action-oriented and a less cerebral than the TV       shows. For instance, a couple of the most popular Trek movies were The        Wrath of Khan and The Voyage Home - IMO both a bit more action-oriented and       less cerebral than the TV show. I suppose you could make a case that Star       Trek 6 (The Undiscovered Country), which was probably one of the more        popular Trek movies, was a bit more cerebral..              I suppose I agree with you, it's more Hollywood than Star Trek.              I don't know why they went back and started over with Kirk and his crew       though.. I would have rather seen some more Star Trek continuing in the        Next Generation era. Even something between the original series and Next       Generation would have been interesting. We have only seen the Enterprise B       and Enterprise C once each on screen.              Eric       --- SBBSecho 2.32-Win32        * Origin: Digital Distortion: digdist.synchro.net (1:340/7)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 150 15/0 90/1 104/115 3178 105/81 106/201 114/706 709       SEEN-BY: 114/710 711 712 713 116/16 123/131 128/73 187 206 253 255       SEEN-BY: 129/305 153/7715 218/700 226/30 227/114 229/110 112 113 206       SEEN-BY: 229/307 317 426 428 470 550 664 700 266/512 282/1038 291/111       SEEN-BY: 292/854 300/6 305/3 310/2 311/2 317/3 320/219 322/757 340/0       SEEN-BY: 340/7 101 200 400 800 1100 1101 342/200 396/45 420/5 460/58       SEEN-BY: 633/280 712/848 3005/1 5075/35       PATH: 340/7 400 15/0 229/426           |
