   One might even think that IDIC might indicate a level of ability to    
   mindmeld. And that wearing that symbol was like a merit badge or something.

   It don't think it is about the acception or rejection of  diversity.   
   They simply /state/ that diversity itself is infinate (number X).   
   And that that can be combined, in infinite (number X) ways.

   Because Vulcans themselves are limited beings. :-)
